July 12th to 16th, XAG Japan took part in The 34th International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition in Hokkaido, Japan, exhibited the latest model of P Series Plant Protection UASs, providing smart solutions for Japanese and global agriculture. The history of International Agricultural Machinery Exhibitions is more than 50 years, the last one was held 4 years ago. In this year’s exhibition, there were 129 exhibitors, attracted more than 200,000 attendees in 5 days.
The theme of the 34th International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition is “Technologies change the future", emphasising the application of information technology in agricultural machinery and the popularisation of intelligent equipments in agricultural production. Most of the agricultural machines on display employed intelligent technologies, which can be operated autonomously, automatically or semi-automatically, in order to reduce the labor input of farmers while maximising the productivity.
Many farmers from all over the world came to visit XAG’s exhibition stand, as well as professionals from agribusiness and research institutions. The RTK high-precision positioning and navigation technology applied by XAG P Series Plant Protection UASs is relatively advanced in the industry. Local farmers and other visitors appeared to have a comprehensive understanding of this technology.
Farmers accredited RTK application in plant protection UASs for autonomous operation, believed that the flexible swarm operation mode, quick battery and liquid tank replacement meet the demand of improving productivity under the circumstance of local labor shortage. They expect XAG's intelligent plant protection solution to be widely spread in Hokkaido soon.
Hokkaido has already constructed RTK base stations, many ground-base agricultural machineries are navigated by high-precision RTK automatically . Therefore, local farmers are more aware of the necessity and advantages of RTK technology in agriculture.
Hokkaido is one of the main agricultural areas in Japan, which is also the largest grain production area. However, the agricultural production is particularly affected by the ageing problem and the lack of successors. As a result, the local demand of improving the efficiency of agricultural production has been very urgent. On the bright side, farms’ acceptance of agricultural intelligence and automation technology is relatively high.
